FunTime Piano

Watch your young pianist flourish one engaging class at a time.

Imagine your child dashing into music class, their eyes sparkling and their face eager to play with friends. Picture the pride as they share a fun new piece with you at home, growing more confident, expressive, and independent each week. At AGMS, FunTime Piano is where those magical transformations begin!

FunTime Piano is the most joyful foundational group piano program in NW Calgary, built for young beginners (age 5) to discover music in a playful, collaborative, and supportive setting.

The AGMS FunTime Piano Experience

  • From curiosity to confidence, cne key at a time

  • Empowering young musicians right from the start

  • Growing together: piano skills, social smarts, and lasting friendships

Warm, play-based learning: every class is full of laughter, group games, and hands-on exploration, right-sized for active, curious minds.

Growth mindset is central: we celebrate “oopsies” as much as successes and nurture brave, resourceful learners. No pressure, only positive inspiration.

From shy starters to joyful players: our team meets each child exactly where they’re at, gently guiding them from “first try” to performing in our friendly recitals.

Skills for life, not just piano: we teach music reading, technique, teamwork, leadership, and, most importantly, the joy of expressive performance.

After completing FunTime Piano your child will be ready to continue piano or other instrument of your choice in the ARIA program.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does my child need to be 5 years old to participate in FunTime Piano?

Age is a guideline only. If your child is about three (3) months away of being 5 years old, feels comfortable participating in activities without you, and is able to follow simple instructions then your child will thrive in class.
This is also an excellent program for six year old children who enjoy working in a group setting and this is their first time taking music lessons

2. Can I register my child at any time?

Children can join up to the second class. Because learning builds on the knowledge from the previous lessons, late registration can only be accommodated early into the program.

Children that have been taking lessons one-on-one for 3 to 4 weeks may transfer to FunTime Piano after a brief evaluation with the instructor

3. Do I need to buy books and other materials?

The materials fee covers all the books and materials we use in class throughout the duration of the program.

4. Do I need to have a piano or keyboard at home?

Having a piano or keyboard at home is required. We will be happy to offer some guidance if you would like to acquire/lease an instrument for the duration of the program.

5. I have more questions. How can I contact the instructor?

Send us an email at agms@shaw.ca. We will be happy to answer all your questions!
