The Opportunity: Schedule & Compensation
This is a part-time contract teaching role with evening availability starting at 4:00 PM (schedule arranged based on studio needs and your availability).
Compensation & Growth Tracks (Transparent):
- Junior / Instructor-in-Training ($24–$27 per hour)
Emerging teachers who are building their teaching practice, including 3rd and 4th-year university music students. If you have 0–2 years of teaching experience and want structured support as you develop your craft, this track is designed for you. It’s also a great fit for career changers or teachers transitioning into private studio instruction who value mentorship and professional growth.
Includes:
- Formal Training: Structured onboarding in AGMS teaching methodologies, studio language, and program delivery.
- Regular Mentoring: Scheduled development sessions plus feedback/goal-setting to support your growth.
- Teaching Support: Guided lesson planning support and check-ins so you feel confident and consistent.
- Instructor ($27–$31 per hour)
Experienced educators with typically 2+ years of consistent teaching who are ready to deliver our program content guide independently and with confidence. You’ve built a track record of student retention and progress, you adapt naturally to different learning styles, and you’re excited to contribute to studio culture through leadership, collaboration, and mentoring others.
Includes:
- Professional Development: Ongoing learning opportunities to deepen your craft.
- Leadership Opportunities: Opportunities to mentor others and lead/support ensemble initiatives.
- Collaboration: Contribute to program improvements and studio culture.
Placement within the track is based on education/training, teaching experience, and readiness to deliver our program content guide consistently.
What You Will Do
- Teach in-person (and online when needed) following our program content guidelines.
- Work one-on-one with students and do everything in your power to help them succeed in their musical journey.
- Attend scheduled team meetings and 1:1 development (“Thrive”) meetings.
- Use tools like Zoom, Trello, Word, Excel, and music applications such as Flash Note Derby.
